Dress Code for the Guidance of Visitors.

On the course

1. All dress on the course must be recognised golf attire. For the sake of clarity this means that specifically:

•  combat trousers

•  denim clothing

•  track/shell suits

•  non tailored shorts are not permitted on the course at anytime.

In addition:

•  shirts worn outside the trousers (in respect of gentlemen and juniors)

•  tee shirts

•  rugby or football attire of any type

•  sleeveless tops (in respect of gentlemen and juniors) are not an acceptable form of dress.

•  Trainers may be worn on the course for juniors under the age of 12. Otherwise recognised golf footwear must be worn for play.

In the clubhouse (including AP Scott Lounge)

3. As a general rule, rugby or football attire must not be worn at any time. Also, except in the locker rooms:

•  sleeveless tops may not be worn by gentlemen and juniors

•  golf shoes may not be worn

•  wet clothing may not be worn

•  caps may not be worn

4. In the Main Lounge, including the family room , dress must be either formal or casual but smart at all times. Subject to this general definition, for the sake of clarity:

•  combat trousers may not be worn

•  denim clothing may not be worn (Children under 12 exempt)

•  track/shell suits may not be worn

• tailored shorts may not be worn after 5pm.

However:

•  smart, tailored shirts may be worn outside trousers collarless (turtle/mock neck) tops are acceptable

•  trainers are only permitted if worn by juniors under the age of 18

•  all other forms of footwear are acceptable if compatible with the general definition of dress shoes or sandals (ie no flip-flops).

5. Other than for the purpose of access, juniors under the age of 12 are not permitted in the main lounge (excluding the family room) at anytime.

6. It is a condition of club membership that dress code is observed by members at all times. Members also have the responsibility to ensure that their guests comply with the above code when visiting club premises. Agreement to comply with the dress code is a written condition of acceptance when taking a booking from a visiting party and as such applies equally to visitors.

7. On the course, the Professional (or his designate) and all Directors of the Club have the responsibility to enforce the code and must do so. In the clubhouse, the Steward (or his designate) and all Directors of the Club have the responsibility to enforce the code. In the case of minor infringements of the code a warning not to repeat the breach of the code may be given as the sole sanction on any one occasion.

8. The interpretation of the dress code is solely a matter for the Steward (or his designate), the Professional and Directors of the club at all times.

9. This code is adopted with immediate effect.
